Secondary and sixth form programme

Financial education workshops for secondary schools

WizeUp delivers engaging financial literacy and employability workshops for students in Years 7–13, helping young people develop the skills they need to manage money confidently. Our curriculum-aligned sessions support PSHE, citizenship and careers education, covering essential topics such as budgeting, student finance, credit and avoiding risks.

Last year, we reached over 42,000 students in 212 schools, but we have been delivering engaging and inclusive financial education and employability workshops, lessons and assemblies for KS3-5 learners since 2011. We believe financial capability is a life skill — like literacy and numeracy. We want to contribute to improving young people's outcomes in life, by increasing their confidence managing their money and making more informed decisions about their financial futures.

Following our sessions, 91% of teachers reported that WizeUp increases students’ confidence in the future.

What are the benefits of a WizeUp financial education workshop?

• Students: Gain practical skills, unlocking future opportunities (getting a first job, creating a budget, understanding how to save, considering next steps such as university or apprenticeships)

• Curriculum: PSHE-aligned, age-appropriate sessions, delivered by experienced and highly-qualified presenters

• No cost: Free to partner schools (or heavily subsidised)

Programme overview

Working with careers teams, PSHE leads, school leaders or heads of sixth form, we'll help to enhance the delivery of your careers, citizenship and PSHE curricular.

Choose from over 20 specialist workshops for KS3-5 students, covering the building blocks of financial education for young people. From managing your money by budgeting, to tips on saving and investing, or the basics of tax, national insurance and pensions, we'll help your students master the fundamentals of finance.

We also have a dedicated programme for sixth forms and FE colleges, helping your students transition to university or adult life.

How our workshops work

Our curriculum-aligned financial education programme supports secondary schools and sixth forms in delivering engaging PSHE and careers education. Our sessions are designed for students in Years 7–13 and delivered by experienced teachers, trainers and presenters. They can be delivered as:

• Whole-school assemblies
• Classroom workshops or lessons
• Enrichment sessions
• Career and university preparation events

Funded and subsidised programmes

We know how tight school budgets are for curriculum enhancements. That's why we've partnered with like-minded financial services organisations who are just as passionate as we are about the importance of financial education for young people. Thanks to the support of our partners — banks, building societies and financial advisors — who generously sponsor our programmes, we are committed to reaching as many students as we can for free!

Get in touch to find out whether your school might be eligible to join our fully funded or heavily subsidised programmes, or find out about our pricing for half-day or full day workshops.

In partnership with schools

Every school and every cohort is different. So we work closely with our partner schools to design a programme that works for their learners' needs. We now also offer a dedicated programme for SEND learners and Pupil Referral Units, as well as KS2 primary workshops, linked to the Citizenship curriculum.

Start building your students' confidence and enjoyment in money management by booking a workshop for your school.

Read teacher and student testimonials to find out more about our impact and why our programmes are so effective.

"The feedback from pupils and staff was very positive. The speaker was excellent and if the questions they have asked subsequently are anything to go by, their awareness of a range of financial issues has been raised considerably."
