Our Partners

"Hinckley & Rugby Building Society is extremely proud to sponsor WizeUp’s sessions within local secondary schools. Ed’s workshops are not only entertaining but also very informative.

Incorporating branch visits whereby students can practise opening an account are popular and relevant to the financial decisions that young people will be making in the not-too-distant future. The fantastic feedback we receive from teachers, parents and pupils - stating that sessions on topics such as budgeting and managing money are thought-provoking and enlightening - is proof of their value and a compelling reason for us being involved in such an important project."

Nicky Gascoigne -  Digital Marketing Manager

"Working with WizeUp has been a great experience and has allowed us as a business reach another area and demographic of our community here in Penrith.

Being able to actively support financial education is essential for a Mutually owned organisation like Penrith Building Society to be able to fulfil its social purpose to its members and the community it serves."

Tim Bowen - C.E.O.

At Greenskywealth we are extremely happy with our association with Ed Flack and Wizeup.

The schools we sponsor, Reepham and Anglo European are delighted with the tailored workshops their students are getting and are already rebooking for next year.

Ed has dedicated himself to delivering financial education directly to the students, in plain no-nonsense English. Giving them all the knowledge and tools, they will need to navigate the big financial decisions they will be making moving forward.

Why no one else is doing this we simply don’t understand.

If each Company sponsored 1 or 2 local schools our children would be so much better equipped to avoid costly mistakes.

Keep up the great work Ed!

Andy Crawford  -  Director

Supporting our local community is embedded in our mutual ethos. Every year our members nominate a charity at our AGM to receive funds from our foundation.

As a Society we also support numerous local causes and events and our staff regularly take part in volunteering and fundraising.

“Working with Wize-Up is an exciting new venture for the Society and we are delighted to be working with Ed Flack to bring financial education to secondary school children in our local area. We believe that it is a valuable life skill to understand the benefits of good personal finance management.”

Linda Reed Operations Manager.

"I really enjoyed watching you in action on Monday – and it looks like the students did as well.

I’d like to thank you for the hard work that you have put into this. I really hope that it makes a difference to the students at the Schools that we are supporting."

Colin Field C.E.O.

"Ed’s passion and his bespoke, down to earth sessions provide essential life skill education to the students who are lucky enough to experience it.

The content is real, relevant, honest and received with enthusiasm and interest.

As a mutual, community is at the heart of everything we do and Saffron Building Society is delighted to be funding these financial awareness sessions to the next generation in our local communities."

Claire Hunnable

Community Business Partner

“In 2019 the Society launched an initiative to deliver financial education to sixth form pupils with the aim of better preparing young adults for their forthcoming moves into work and college by teaching them the basics of such things as taxation, budgeting, saving and renting accommodation.  During the previous academic year we have worked with Ed and four schools in Bath and we estimate that we have worked with about 550 students.  This academic year we will be working with at least five schools; possibly seven, and hope to see almost 1,400 students throughout the year.

Ed has been brilliant and has worked with our local schools to give them the financial education programmes that they require.  He has also worked with two groups of students with learning difficulties from the College in Bath and Three Ways a special educational needs school.”

The Mansfield Building Society has been serving customer and member needs since 1870 and our aim is to remain a safe and trusted independent mutual organisation.  We strive to be highly regarded, friendly and efficient in helping our customers and members save for the future and buy their own homes.  As well as being a secure haven for savings, we offer a clear and transparent range of mortgage solutions to help people fulfil their individual housing needs.  Our organisation governance means that as a mutual building society we actively support the local community through sponsorship, charitable support and the direct engagement of our staff.

Newbury Building Society is an independent, mutual society that has been serving the community for 165 years, providing mortgages and savings for its members.  We are proud of being a mutual organisation, which means we are owned by our members, and we are committed to creating long-term value for them.

ESBS is a Building Society entirely focused on our members and the communities and issues that matter to them.  Through World Wars, pandemics, political, cultural and technological changes we’ve stood strong.  We treasure our legacy and continue to look forward in order to support our members for generations to come.  The first meeting of ‘Earl Shilton Permanent Benefit Building & Land Society’ was held in the Royal Oak Club Room, High Street, Earl Shilton, on the 17th December 1856. Members paid their first subscriptions on 3rd January 1857.  During the years, we have always been based in Earl Shilton in Leicestershire.  We also have a second branch in nearby Barwell and have been at our current home at The Hollow since 1940. Following an extensive refurbishment in 2013 the Head Office now provides even more of a secure, clean, professional and modern environment for members and staff, demonstrating our continued commitment to Earl Shilton.

We take great pride in being a successful independent, mutual building society in the UK which is owned and run for the benefit of its Members– savers and borrowers just like you.

Unlike many high street banks, our building society has no shareholders to serve and we’re not listed on the stock exchange. All our profits go back into the Society to benefit members.

Whilst the world has changed in many ways since the 1850s, we have remained true to our traditional, mutual values by providing an individual service to all our Members. We attribute our success to delivering simple, flexible and attractive products that are of benefit to our Members and intermediaries with whom we work, both regionally and nationally.

For many people, Chorley Building Society is their building society of choice as a valued and relied upon provider.

In addition to providing savings and mortgages to our Members, Chorley Building Society supports numerous charities and local community groups .

Putting members first

We are a mutual at heart, putting our members first and have been since 1856.We have nine branches spread across the North East, County Durham, and North Yorkshire. The branches are supported by our on-line banking service, Darlingtonline. We offer a range of savings accounts and mortgages, to help our members save for the future and realise the dream of owning their own home.Being mutual, means our profits are turned into lower mortgage rates, higher savings rates, and support for local charities.  We are Improving the lives of our members and communities through supporting home ownership and encouraging saving.

“Delivering financial training to young people in our operating area is a key priority for us, so we’re delighted to be working with an organisation that has built up a first-class reputation in this specialised area of education.“With the cost-of-living crisis, it has never been more important to help the younger generation gain a better understanding of how to manage their money and avoid debt, while also improving their life-skills and employability.“Our aim is to make a consistent impact in schools, complementing the work we already carry out with literacy, and we hope this will become a long-term partnership in the way we deliver financial education.”

Louise Thorpe, Distribution Director

The Vernon is a mutual building society, this means that instead of having shareholders, we're run for the benefit of our members who collectively own the business - our savings and mortgage customers.

As a mutual, we invest our profits back into the Society in order to give our members the best rates and service we can. This also enables us to support local charities and community groups within the Stockport area; something we're incredibly passionate about.

We want to give back to the community all year round and we want to do it with the help of our Members. Share with us the causes close to your heart so that we can help fund local not-for-profits.

Community Stars runs all year round, celebrating worthy causes within our community.
