"Hinckley & Rugby Building Society is extremely proud to sponsor WizeUp’s sessions within local secondary schools. Ed’s workshops are not only entertaining but also very informative.
Incorporating branch visits whereby students can practise opening an account are popular and relevant to the financial decisions that young people will be making in the not-too-distant future. The fantastic feedback we receive from teachers, parents and pupils - stating that sessions on topics such as budgeting and managing money are thought-provoking and enlightening - is proof of their value and a compelling reason for us being involved in such an important project."
Nicky Gascoigne - Digital Marketing Manager
"Working with WizeUp has been a great experience and has allowed us as a business reach another area and demographic of our community here in Penrith.
Being able to actively support financial education is essential for a Mutually owned organisation like Penrith Building Society to be able to fulfil its social purpose to its members and the community it serves."
Tim Bowen - C.E.O.
"We have worked with WizeUp for over two years to help us deliver our financial education programme to local secondary schools. The feedback from schools has been fantastic and they find the sessions invaluable.
Ed delivers a combination of professional, informative and engaging workshops that really seem to hit the spot with pupils!"
Jane Gilhespy - Communications Manager
At Greenskywealth we are extremely happy with our association with Ed Flack and Wizeup.
The schools we sponsor, Reepham and Anglo European are delighted with the tailored workshops their students are getting and are already rebooking for next year.
Ed has dedicated himself to delivering financial education directly to the students, in plain no-nonsense English. Giving them all the knowledge and tools, they will need to navigate the big financial decisions they will be making moving forward.
Why no one else is doing this we simply don’t understand.
If each Company sponsored 1 or 2 local schools our children would be so much better equipped to avoid costly mistakes.
Keep up the great work Ed!
Andy Crawford - Director
Supporting our local community is embedded in our mutual ethos. Every year our members nominate a charity at our AGM to receive funds from our foundation.
As a Society we also support numerous local causes and events and our staff regularly take part in volunteering and fundraising.
“Working with Wize-Up is an exciting new venture for the Society and we are delighted to be working with Ed Flack to bring financial education to secondary school children in our local area. We believe that it is a valuable life skill to understand the benefits of good personal finance management.”
Linda Reed Operations Manager.
"I really enjoyed watching you in action on Monday – and it looks like the students did as well.
I’d like to thank you for the hard work that you have put into this. I really hope that it makes a difference to the students at the Schools that we are supporting."
Colin Field C.E.O.
"Ed’s passion and his bespoke, down to earth sessions provide essential life skill education to the students who are lucky enough to experience it.
The content is real, relevant, honest and received with enthusiasm and interest.
As a mutual, community is at the heart of everything we do and Saffron Building Society is delighted to be funding these financial awareness sessions to the next generation in our local communities."

“In 2019 the Society launched an initiative to deliver financial education to sixth form pupils with the aim of better preparing young adults for their forthcoming moves into work and college by teaching them the basics of such things as taxation, budgeting, saving and renting accommodation. During the previous academic year we have worked with Ed and four schools in Bath and we estimate that we have worked with about 550 students. This academic year we will be working with at least five schools; possibly seven, and hope to see almost 1,400 students throughout the year.
Ed has been brilliant and has worked with our local schools to give them the financial education programmes that they require. He has also worked with two groups of students with learning difficulties from the College in Bath and Three Ways a special educational needs school.”
Tiffany Hardie‑Albutt
PR & Communications Manager
"WizeUp is an excellent initiative to help young adults to start preparing for their future. Ed is professional, approachable and engaging, delivering important and useful topics in a logical way for the students. In particular, the ’30 Second Interviews’ are a great way to break the ice and get the students to think about the types of questions that they may be asked in real-life interview situations.
As a Society, we are proud to sponsor this great cause and help with these workshops in our local area, highlighting valuable life skills for the students to take away and use in their daily lives. "
